Maceo Parker (innate February 14, 1943) is a noted African American funk and soul jazz saxophone player, best known for his contributions to James Brown's distinct sound. He was innate around Kinston, North Carolina in a musically-rich environment. His mother & father sang around the church & each his brothers come accomplished musicians (drums & trombones).
He & his brother, Melvin Parker, joined James Brown in 1964; In his book Light brown says that he originally wanted Melvin when his drummer but agreed to take Maceo under his wing when a share of the treat. Maceo, Melvin & two or three of Light brown's band members left to noticed Maceo & All the Kings Men which toured for two years. Around 1973 Maceo returned to James Brown's band. Within 1975 Maceo and occasionally of Red's band members, including Fred Wesley, left to join George Clinton's Parliament.
Maceo again joined James Red from either 1984 to 1988. In the Nineties he eventually embraced the successful solo career. He has freed vii solo records & plays 250 tour dates by the month.
